This simply is because praying for extended amounts of time is truly MUCH easier with comfy chairs (followed along with a caffeinated beverage for me - that's just a personal preference though).
So If you are from the camp that thinks prayer is only about reaching God in the heavenlies while keeping one's self from enjoying a minute of it --- I believe you are wrong: prayer is also about enjoying God in comfy chairs.
the end of that arguement. whew.
Also to tag along with this picture post we have a few dooises from the night when Joni (our latest and greatest intern) graduated. Joni, her man Nate, and I decided that we wanted to go see Feist up in Greensboro the same night she graduated. Only there was a problem - Joni graduated the same time as the show began and Greensboro is an hour and a half away from Charlotte. So Joni's graduation was over at 9:15 and seemingly there was no way that we could have gotten to the show on time. So what did we do? Well...no question about this one folks! We hopped in the car and drove as fast as possible to Greensboro to see if we could make any part of the show.
To our dismay as we rounded the corner on South Green Street and Elm we saw the street filling with people coming out of the theater we wanted to go into - and realized that we as we pulled up the show actually had ended. We ended out our little adventure with Joni getting a t-shirt and eating some pizza at 11:30pm from some hole in the wall with pizza made with love from an italian man - which actually made the trip almost worth it.
So here is the proof - tired eyes and car rides:
