I had a wonderful time in Charlotte. (pictures later) Katie and Kenny's wedding was as close to perfect as a bride and groom could hope for. Standing with Katie as a bridesmaid was the honor I knew it would be. It was one of those weddings that you just couldn't help crying at. The tears flowed for all of us as we thought about Katie and Kenny and the symbol that marriage is of our heavenly bridegroom (I'm not trying to be cheesey here, it's just true).
Plus I got to sing, play the drums, be with friends I hadn't seen in several months, be in the prayer room, talk about Matthew 5, Revelation 4, Matthew 6, and various biblical themes like the Kingdom of Heaven in in-depth conversations, and eat and both Five Guys and Luisa's pizza. :)
However, I phoned my mom on Friday night to see how my Grandma was doing and the news wasn't so good. Over the weekend my Grandma began to slip into a coma and it was announced that she had 24 hours - 5 days to live.
Shortly after I flew back to Kansas City around 12:20am this morning she passed away. However tragic it is, I believe it's also a blessing for her espeically. She has fought pulminary fibrosis for 6 years now and her husband passed away 6 months ago. I believe of course being the amazing Christian woman she is that she is standing with the Lord now - probably actually seeing Revelation 4 when the only thing I get to do is talk about it.
There's so much to say I don't know what else to say. Plus I'm very groggy from staying up until 4:30am with family after it all transpired. I'll write more later. There's really neat parts about the timing of it all and stories about my grandma I would like to reflect on -- just later.

i wish you the best at this time, and i'm praying for you, friend. i just lost my grandpap a few weeks ago, so i can relate. i know it never really helps at all to hear someone say that, but i think it's cool that your grandmother and my grandpap might be hanging out in heaven right now :-)
