Snappy handling, looks good, decent mileage, assembled in Mexico: good looking junk. Repairs, repairs, more repairs, car disintegrating. This car is extremely hard to work on, stuff is difficult to get to, increasing repair costs, and very, very cheaply made.
Favorite Features
Looks good, handles well. Zippy and fun to drive. Then watch out.
Suggested Improvements
Let VW go out of business. I worked for VW America as a mechanic back in the "beetle" days. At the time the company produced one of the most reliable cars made. Not any more.
aaaand I'm not buying a jetta
has anyone ever heard anything about jettas? I don't personally know any owners. Mark in the land of Ice - did you used to have one? Don't tell me the good stuff just the bad so I go on thinking I made the right decision okay? ....just kidding. Tell me for real.

Yeah you should definitely stick with Honda. Lucas and I swear by Hondas and my mom drives a VW Bug and even though she likes the way it looks she doesn't like the fact that repairs cost an arm and a leg and she is always having to fix something. So I think you made the right choice by far. :)
Oh and Lucas says he's still looking for your book. :)

my cousin had a jetta; good for awhile, then all the repair things started happening. you have an excellent track record with honda. i think those cars could go forever. i personally swear by my subaru. love it! i don't think i will ever by anything else.

I just now discovered your blog, so this comment is rather late. I totally have a Jetta. It's old (1997), but I got it because I heard that Jettas last forever, and mine currently has over 223,000 miles on it and is still going. But it's been nickleing and dimeing me to death as of late. So, you probably did the right thing with your Honda. -April
