Well...my car is probably "totaled". Which means I'm going to get in a fight with my insurance company.
I don't want a new car. I like mine... proudly dubbed "Hercules" because of it's amazing durability. From here to the West Coast to the East Coast, Hercules and I have become great friends. So I've spent all night preparing myself for an insurance fight trying to save Hercules from the salvage yard. It's silly, I could go to the body shop tonight with some ductape, and drive it for 5 or 6 years just fine...
What would you pay for a 1997 Honda Civic EX Coupe in great condition w/ 154,000 miles on it? The books say anywhere between $4,000 - $6,500.
Insurance sucks.
