Mkay now that the whole car thing is over I can get back to normal scheduled blogging. Most of my internet time was spent looking on autotrader.com and cars.com so I didn't really get the chance to do the usual relaxing that I enjoy from the glow of my electric mac screen.
So as the fall hits I'm looking forward to a couple of things - the weather becoming cooler and hopefully more bike rides, leaves changing, the incredible feeling of the seasons changing, and pumpkin spiced lattes from starbucks...But the main thing I'm looking forward to is my trip to Omaha/Council bluffs with a team from the house of prayer next weekend. I'm really looking forward to seeing good friends and being a part of a ministry team. I have been going to Omaha for the past couple of years with a team and love the people there. It will just be nice to be in the Lord's presence and be with people I love and miss. Because I of course miss Charlotte (as always) and my lifestyle being that of a prayer missionary's. I keep thinking I'll go back one day soon but it hasn't happened yet. And it's been about 8 months since I came back to Springfield. There in June I was almost sure of my return, but after my sister's serious back issues, searching for another car (and consequently broke from buying a new one) I have been a bit tied up in my home and job -- of course rightly (and probably the Lord's plan) so. My friend Arin is going to do an internship there in October and that's another thing I am looking forward to. Maybe because I can vicariously live through his experience? Probably not. Maybe just because that's one more springfieldian there? Well, probably not that either. I am excited to see what the Lord does in him and what his own experience will be.
Anyway, just to give you an update - life is good and much smoother this week than it has been in awhile. Even though the road has been a little curvy I have really enjoyed it and learned a lot of great stuff. Here's a little list of things I've been learning:
- insurance companies must be fought and fighting them takes a lot of phone calls and diligence
- what a lien release is...don't worry i don't have a lien
- that I can handle a lot more adult stuff than I think I can
- what a herniated disc looks like and what it must feel like (terrible)
- Jason personal care products are my favorite
- Singing without avioms is really hard
- that I have been into prayer since I was a kid and it's not going anywhere, it's really who I am
- my sister makes the best chocolate chip cookie dough and is a good cook too
- serving is not always fun but it's one of the best ways to spend one's free time
