120 bpm

i came out to dinner by myself. well, actually my computer is my date. i know - lame - but i do what i can. came to this sweet place in dillworth called Just Fresh. had a yummy godfather sandwich. now im trying to decide what to do next.

i think i have a permanent click track going in my head. for those of you in the music world you will know what that means. 120 bpm. i think it's from doing two sets in 6 hours. yep. exxxciting.

Computers

So. I haven't written anything in a long time. Actually I have but it's been on private not public for awhile - lots of blogging gone journalling for me lately. Basically to put you all up to date - I have been praying and admining every day for the past month. It's been a good season but full of things to accomplish that hasn't left much room for blogging. I did get a great weekend with Michelle, my sister in a couple of weekends ago and that was amazing fun time for both of us.

Today however, I sat in a chair for 4 hours waiting to get my taxes done. (no fun by the way)
I sat and sat and sat - luckily had a book and my cell phone - but mostly I just sat. Then, when it was my turn (finally) to go to the tax-man, as soon as he began to type my name in the computer experienced some major techincal difficulties. (Resolving me to sit some more.)
Which brings me to another topic - computers and the prayer movement... I was sitting at lunch the other day and discussing with several other prayer missionaries about the nearly crazy amount of computer problems that tie into the prayer movement. They seem to happen, without warning, as soon as any of us at zhop start to do any random admin on the computer.
It also seems as though any time I have a deadline and I think, oh, this should be easy. I should know by now that easy doesn't exist in this context. Typically, what I experience is that I go to type and something crazy happens and shuts whatever computer I am using down.
Example: Yesterday a couple of prayer missionaries went to kinko's to simply print some nametags off. Easy right? Kinko's has their business down and everything should be simple. NO. As soon as they walked in the door the Kinko's dude announced that for some reason all of their copiers and machines were down and not able to print.
Example 2: Tax-man today. Something that should have taken a total of 30 minutes took about 2 hours due to techincal difficulties.
I have more but I shall spare you....

I think that there is something going on here.

Mac Woes Solved!

Thanks to Eric, the self proclaimed "hippie in EZ37" (but who I call genius!) all is better now. I just quit using Entourage and started using Mail for Mac that syncs with iCal. Sweet. I'm up and running and PC users can have my calendar if they want it.

I went to SuperTarget today. Bought stuff. Also went to Fuel pizza. Which I am now making one of my favorite things about living in Charlotte. I had a yummy meatball sub.

but tomorrow is a new day.

SOS 5:2 and Galatians 2:20

My day was really good. I didn't take my computer downstairs (ha, can't wait until I don't have to say "downstairs" any longer) for my prayer shift today and let me tell you, this puter is a distraction if you let it be. Anyway, I'm reading a book on the Song of Solomon by Watchman Nee. I've been diving into the never ending topic of love for the past two months. Seems as though God has me linking Song of Solomon 5:2 (I sleep but my heart is awake) and Galatians 2:20 (I am crucified with Christ...) right now. I had a dream two months ago about Galatians 2:20 and it is one of those verses I can't stop meditating on even if I wanted to. It seems to be one of those that takes me to various places in the Bible and just keeps bringing me back to itself. Here's what Watchman has to say about SOS 5:2 "I sleep but my heart is awake..."
"Here is seen the very great difference between the outer and inner man of the believer. One should be at rest outwardly but very much awake and alert inwardly and not at all sleepy. This picture coincides precisely with the Apostle Paul's testimony in Galatians 2:20: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me." In this the apostle personified a complete union and communion with the Lord Jesus Christ, and such a person is unusally sensitive, alert, and full of feeling to any still small voice of the Lord's speaking."
